HTLT Announces Service to Avoid Per Minute Charges for Internet Usage |
|
LAUREL, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 2003--HTLT, an innovative telecommunications software solutions company, announces the launch of LCA Online, a pay-per-use website version of their local call analyzer product. |
LCA Online can prevent you from being blindsided by exorbitant telephone charges for Internet access when you set up service with a new ISP or when traveling away from your home or office.
Starting right now, and for a flat fee of only $4, this software tool allows any Internet user, no matter where he or she is, to establish with certainty whether the "local" access number provided by an ISP or hotel is truly "local"!
Explained Elliott Derk, Chairman and CEO, of software developer HTLT, based in Laurel, MD: "LCA (Local Call Analyzer) Online allows travelers to avoid per minute charges for Internet usage by checking to see if the dial-up number supplied by their ISP is really and truly local. We validate if it is local and, if it isn't, give detailed information on the actual cost of the call. So for $4 a data dip, Internet customers can save themselves from experiencing sticker shock -- sometimes amounting to hundreds of dollars -- when they receive their phone bill or check out of a hotel."
LCA is a tool that identifies local calling scopes, shows the cost associated with calls between two points, and assists in network development by making recommendations on the best location to establish a point of presence to maximize coverage.
LCA has been used successfully -- and profitably -- for the past eight years by Internet Service Providers (ISPs), along with health care providers, insurance companies and franchises to assist them in planning their networks, re-directing local traffic from more costly 800 lines, and to identify local markets.
In the Internet environment, the software tool enables ISPs to determine if they have local coverage for new customers, and, in turn, permits a customer to check to see if the number is truly "local" as opposed to a more costly "local toll" or "long distance" connection.
Said Mr. Derk: "Smaller companies and individuals have been unable to afford the cost of licensing LCA. Now HTLT is offering it on a pay-per-use basis with LCA Online." And the company is even offering discount packages -- if you buy 100 data dips the cost is only $3 a dip, which goes down to $2 a dip if you buy a package of 250. "For frequent flyers, the 250 package is a real bargain," Derk promised.
