Conrad Opens 15Th Luxury Hotel In Bangkok, Thailand |
|
A design-led and innovative hotel, the Conrad Bangkok is committed to creating a ‘new attitude’ |
BRUSSELS, January 13, 2003: Conrad Hotels, the award-winning luxury group within the Hilton family of brands, adds another flagship property with today’s opening of the Conrad Bangkok. This hotel is an exceptional property with remarkable features and an innovative approach to delivering the finest hospitality.
Hotel Location, Facilities and Services
The contemporary, 392-room luxury hotel is superbly located on Wireless Road in All Seasons Place - Bangkok’s premier integrated office, retail, residential and hotel development - in the bustling business district, close to embassies, shopping malls and Sky Train transportation.
The hotel has a number of unique features, including ‘glass wall’ bathrooms with free standing bathtubs and separate shower cabins while the guest rooms, discreetly influenced by Thai decorative artwork, are unusually spacious and are ‘wired’ with the latest communications technology.
A range of leisure options help guests to unwind and to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. These include a deluxe Spa offering massage in private treatment rooms, a fitness centre with the latest equipment, a 36 metre swimming pool and a jogging track with landscaped gardens, as well as floodlit tennis courts.
In line with Conrad’s meeting facilities worldwide, the Conrad Bangkok features versatile conference and banqueting space including ballrooms, accommodating up to 800 people. For more intimate gatherings, there is a range of small meeting and function rooms and a 24 Hour Business Centre.
The hotel offers executive and weekend leisure programmes for business and leisure travellers, while all guests can also enjoy chauffeur-driven airport transfers in E-class Mercedes for their pleasures.
Culinary Delights
Some of the world’s most creative cuisine is on offer at the Conrad Bangkok with an exciting choice of restaurants and bars all planned meticulously and destined to make a big impact with Bangkok residents and hotel guests alike. Design, music, our ‘new attitude’ approach to service have also been subtly integrated to create no less than four unique dining concepts:
• Drinking Tea, Eating Rice: Perfection in simplicity. Food as art, dining as contemplation, distilled to essence. Japanese cuisine as it was meant to be; pure and real.
• 87: “World Food, Global Grooves” A restaurant that’s a bar, that’s a club, that doesn’t know it’s in a hotel. Graze from the best of world cuisine; groove to mellow adjustments of mood. Then trace trails of cool as the night builds to boiling point. The cream of global cuisine. The essential choice in clubbing.
• Liu: A single character, a sweep of meaning. New thinking. New feeling. Contemporary takes on classics of Chinese cuisine and the art of tea brought back to the future. Culinary revolutionary Zhang Jinjie, creator of Beijing’s amazing Green T. House, brings her vision of the New China to Bangkok.
• Café @ 2: Open kitchens, willing chefs. A buffet that’s not. Browse, point and choose. Then watch as the freshest produce is cooked to your desire. We call it the “Culinaria”. You’ll call it the place to get connected.
Creative and Contemporary Atmosphere
“We are delighted to announce the opening of the Conrad Bangkok which is our third hotel in Asia and our 15th worldwide” said Clem Barter, President Conrad Hotels. “We are confident that this exceptional hotel will rapidly be established as a flagship property in Bangkok - its strengths lie in the combination of design, attention to detail in service, training and delivering, all of which are specialist areas of expertise for Conrad,” he added.
Greg Meadows, the Conrad Bangkok’s General Manager, who has many years of experience in Thailand, has been working with his growing team over the last 12 months on a detailed and ambitious pre-opening programme.
He explained: “With our meticulous preparation for the hotel opening, from staff selection to the choice of designer uniforms and exceptional interior design, we have set out to create a unique atmosphere and attitude within the hotel. Our service ethic, cuisine concepts and application of technology are highly innovative and there really is nothing like the Conrad - here in Bangkok – or indeed anywhere in the world!”
The interior design of the hotel has been co-ordinated through the local branch of the American company Wilson and Associates. And the staff uniforms and accessories have been especially created by Pichitra, Thailand’s most creative and acclaimed fashion designer.
