Old Chicago Brings the Authentic Taste of Germany to the United States for the First Time Ever with Exclusive Oktoberfest Beer

    Old Chicago – a division of Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc. and the pizza and beer authority known for its “World Beer Tour” and 110 unique, cold beers – is launching its annual Oktoberfest Mini Beer Tour on Wednesday, Sept. 8, just in time for the 200th anniversary of Oktoberfest.  As a special part of this year’s tour, Old Chicago is introducing Paulaner Wiesn Blonde, an official beer of Oktoberfest in Germany, to U.S. beer lovers for the very first time.  Old Chicago is the only restaurant chain to offer this beer, and the Oktoberfest Mini Tour marks the first time Paulaner Wiesn Blonde has been available in the U.S.

    The Oktoberfest Mini Tour runs through Sunday, Oct. 3 and features eight Oktoberfest-themed beers – different beers are highlighted each week throughout the four-week tour – including the exclusive Paulaner.  This Mini Tour makes it possible for guests to authentically celebrate the festival in German style, right here in the U.S.  Old Chicago’s Oktoberfest celebration kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. with tapping parties for the Paulaner Wiesn Blonde at each of the restaurant chain’s more than 100 locations nationwide.  Each Old Chicago location will have only a limited amount of the Paulaner Wiesn Blonde, so guests must hurry to enjoy the authentic taste of Oktoberfest.

    “We know our loyal guests and World Beer Tour members come to Old Chicago to find the best variety in beer,” said Tracy Finklang, mixologist and corporate beverage manager who sources all Mini Tour beers for Old Chicago.  “We are honored to be the first and only chain in the U.S. to offer the Paulaner Wiesn Blonde of Oktoberfest in celebration of the festival’s 200th anniversary, and we’re excited to bring that authentic experience to our guests.”  

    Each Old Chicago location will feature the Paulaner Wiesn Blonde as part of the Oktoberfest Mini Tour, as well as seven other beers that vary by location.  Guests can contact their local restaurant for exciting news about tapping parties and specific tour beers.

    And, Old Chicago’s World Beer Tour members who ultimately complete the Oktoberfest Mini Tour by sampling all eight beers will receive the highly coveted Mini Tour T-shirt with a specially designed Oktoberfest graphic on the front.  Anyone can sign up to become a World Beer Tour member at Old Chicago.
