(Dubai, September 2002): Le Royal Meridien Bahrain’s excellent performance over the last nine months has seen the hotel win trade and consumer plaudits alike, according to Francesco Borrello, general manager of the resort hotel.
The general manager was quick to pay tribute to his team following another award: the luxury resort won Best Hotel in Bahrain.
The award was voted for by readers of Middle East Travel, the leading English language trade and consumer travel magazine in the region, and its sister publication Al Iktissad Wal Aamal, the region’s leading Arabic business publication.
Borrello said: “We are delighted to have received this award, coming as it does from such a diverse readership. This reflects the wide appeal that le Royal Meridien Bahrain has, both for leisure as the only luxury beach-front property in the Kingdom, but also for business, with our top-class conference facilities.”
This latest gong follows on from the ‘Best Business Hotel in Bahrain’ award at the inaugural Business Traveller Middle East ceremony during May’s Arabian Travel Market, as well as ‘Outstanding Hotel Design Project’ at the DEPA Middle East Hotels Awards in Cairo.
“These awards have come from the public and the industry alike – which is another justification of the ground-level work we have put in at the resort.
“We underwent a measured investment plan to develop the staff and to re-engineer the organisational structure of the hotel, and it is gratifying to see the results of these moves have translated through – as we believed they would – to an improved customer service offering,” concluded Borrello.
