Top Honors Received for Renovation of Five-Star/Five-Diamond Resort
Columbia, October 15, 2010 –First Finish, Inc. recently won the Gold Hard Hat Award in the category of Outstanding Multifamily/Hospitality Project for work done on the Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado. The Gold Hard Hat Awards, sponsored by McGraw-Hill Construction Mountain States Construction magazine, recognizes the best projects completed in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Three hundred architects, engineers, contractors, and owners were in attendance at the ceremony in Denver, Colorado as First Finish was honored as one of the region’s “best of the best” of 2010. Judging was done by a panel of industry experts in 19 categories. Winners were selected based on design quality and innovation, craftsmanship, the project’s contribution to the community and the industry, solution of unique design and construction challenges, and overall excellence. All award recipients are featured in the October 2010 issue of Mountain States Construction magazine, out on newsstands.
“Known as one of the finest hotels in the world, guests and experts alike understand the importance of the Little Nell to the town of Aspen as well as the hospitality industry,” explains David Burman, president of First Finish. “The success of this project was the result of productive collaboration from an experienced group of professionals and nine months of planning—three weeks of planning allotted for every week of construction.”
The Little Nell is an internationally-known Aspen destination. Work began on the five-star/five-diamond ski-in/ski-out resort in September 2009. The 95,000-sq-ft, $20 million renovation was completed in 12 weeks—in time for the 2009-2010 ski season.
