New GM Named for Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington, Indiana
Michael Campbell recently joined the White Lodging team as General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Bloomington, Indiana. A Bloomington resident, Campbell most recently was the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Indianapolis.
"I'm excited about gaining experience from White Lodging and for the growth opportunities within the company," Campbell commented. "I look forward to growing the business both fiscally and in terms of guest loyalty and service."
A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts and Ohio University with a Master of Arts, Campbell's first position in the industry was as the front desk manager for a property near the campus of Ohio University. From there, he moved to Bloomington, Indiana to assume first the Assistant General Manager and next the General Manager duties at the Ramada Inn and Howard Johnson Express and then became the General Manager at the Hampton Inn at Indiana University.
During his time in the industry, Campbell has amassed a number of multi-year awards and recognitions including Hotel of the Year, Inner Circle Award, Most Sale-Oriented GM and Budget Beater Award.
Discussing the hiring of Campbell, White Lodging's Regional Vice President David Monroe said, "We are excited to have Mike join our team. He has 18 years in the lodging industry and extensive knowledge of the Hilton Garden Inn brand, and I look forward to the value he will add to our organization."
A 168-room property located in the heart of historic downtown Bloomington and within easy walking distance to the Indiana University campus, the Hilton Garden Inn has a Coaches restaurant on-site. A popular dining and entertainment spot, Coaches has an extensive collection of IU sports memorabilia.
