With one of the most recognized addresses on the West Coast, the highly acclaimed Catch Restaurant at Hotel Casa del Mar continues to revolutionize the dining experience as one of the first restaurants to leverage the groundbreaking new capabilities of the iPad. Catch has created a custom iPad application exclusively designed to navigate its extensive wine list. The new iPad wine list features the SmartCellar application designed by the New York-based company Incentient.

Waiters at Catch now greet guests with an iPad loaded with the restaurant’s extensive wine list. The restaurant uses the iPad-specific software to display its wine list, along with detailed information on each wine, including ratings, pricing and pairing suggestions.

The restaurant will use this interactive high-definition, color touch-screen handheld device to educate patrons on over 200 international wines available or invite guests to instantly access the information themselves from the iPad’s SmartCellar application with the touch of a finger.

“We strive to be at the cusp of technology and are proud to announce the launch of this innovative iPad Wine List to offer our dinner guests a cutting-edge experience,” said James Barela, General Manager at Hotel Casa del Mar.

The interactive wine list will allow Catch guests to use each iPad to explore the restaurant’s award-winning wine list. Guests may search using a number of criteria, including year, place of origin, and varietal. The SmartCellar system also displays photography of each wine label. The touch-screen application is easy enough for a casual diner but detailed enough for the most knowledgeable wine connoisseur.
