DALLAS (April 14, 2003) - Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Abdel Zouari to general manager of the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa, in St. Thomas, USVI.
Zouari’s hospitality experience spans more than 14 years and includes top management positions with luxury hotel and resort brands from around the world. Prior to joining Wyndham, Zouari served as vice president of operations, islands division for Allegro Resorts, overseeing operations for hotels in five Caribbean nations. While at Allegro, Zouari also served as vice president of operations for the brand’s Mediterranean division, supervising properties in Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt. Zouari’s credentials include a nine-year tenure with Club Med Resorts, where he served in various management positions including general manager and regional director of operations.
“Abdel’s background with luxury properties and his understanding of the Caribbean market allows him to oversee renovations and programs that will help elevate the resort’s reputation even further,” said Jay Litt, Wyndham’s senior vice president of operations, eastern region. “He will facilitate the addition of a European Plan option, oversee a revitalization effort and strengthen the resort’s position as one of the best in the Caribbean.”
