Austin, Texas; April 14, 2002 - Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) has selected hospitality-industry veteran, Lance Peterson as its new Director of Marketing.
Peterson has numerous years of experience in both the hospitality industry and sales and marketing. Starting immediately, he will be responsible for promoting HFTP services to industry vendors, such as booths for HFTP's exhibitions at HITEC, ONHTEC and its Annual Convention & Tradeshow; as well as advertising in HFTP publications. Peterson is replacing Teresa Pulley, who is resigning from HFTP after five years of great service to the association; including a period when HITEC saw tremendous growth in its exhibition size. Pulley, after a few months sabbatical, has not decided what she wants to do. For now, she plans to rest and relax.
"I am very pleased to announce the addition of Lance to our HFTP team," said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP executive vice president and CEO. "However, I am also sad that we are losing Teresa in a full time capacity. Teresa is one of the most dedicated, loyal and committed colleagues that I have ever had the chance to work with. HFTP is a much better place because of her contributions. The association is fortunate that in addition to adding Lance to the team as a full-time member, Teresa has also agreed to make short-term return appearances for us if needed."
Peterson has a bachelor's from Michigan State University's School of Hospitality Business, as well as an M.B.A. in International Management. After spending seven years in hotel sales and marketing, Lance spent two years in Asia working for the U.S. Department of Commerce. In 2000, Lance moved to Austin, Texas from Vietnam to work for Wayport and later, with STSN, in their sales and marketing divisions where he sold and consulted on network installations.
Contact Peterson by phone at (512) 249-5333 or (800) 646-4387 ext. 20; or by e-mail at Lance.Peterson@hftp.org.
Pulley, who joined HFTP as a temporary telemarketer in 1998, helped grow both HITEC and HFTP's Annual Convention & Tradeshow during her tenure. You can send your best-wishes to Pulley through the end of April at Teresa.Pulley@hftp.org.
