Fairplex prepares to open the doors to its high-tech conference center on March 14, 2012.
In addition to pursuing I.A.C.C. and Silver LEED certification, the conference center features numerous innovative eco-friendly amenities, such as a rain harvesting system that stores collected rain which is later used to irrigate the landscape. Built using recycled concrete, aluminum and other building materials, it also boasts an ultra high-efficiency HVAC heating and cooling system.
While this sustainable design minimizes the environmental impact of the Center, the versatile conference center floor plan and features maximize the Center's functionality. Featuring spacious seminar rooms as well as breakout rooms with interactive video-conferencing, high-speed Wi-Fi, professional audio/visual and computer capabilities managed by an expert technical team, this state-of-the-art conference center has everything needed to plan and host a world-class conference or event.
To complement the high-tech and diverse meeting space offered by the Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center, a ballroom with dining capacity for 1,000 is available for entertaining. Patrons can also enjoy the onsite Urban Farm featuring the culinary offerings of an innovative chef using the farm's fresh produce.
Conveniently located just nine miles from the Ontario Airport and a short drive from Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino or Orange Counties, visitors can easily access Fairplex for Southern Californian events, and enjoy accommodations at the award-winning Sheraton Fairplex Hotel, or the KOA RV Park located on-site at Fairplex.
Funded by $30 million raised in conjunction with the Economic Development Administration, Small Business Administration, County of Los Angeles and city of Pomona, the Fairplex Conference Center has been designed to complement the Art Deco qualities of Fairplex in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner. This project underscores the mission of Fairplex as all net revenues from the center will be reinvested in enhancing and improving the overall Fairplex facility so this local treasure can be enjoyed for generations to come.
