Radisson SAS Hotel, Tashkent, Uzbekistan Opens |
|
Brussels, May 2003 – The Radisson SAS Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, has opened its doors to the public. This is the first Radisson SAS hotel in the Central Asia region. In Western Asia, the company has operated the Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, since 1998. |
The brand new Radisson SAS Hotel in Tashkent offers 115 guest rooms, including business class rooms, junior suites and executive suites, and is strategically located on the Amer Timur Road, in the city’s new banking and business districts. The hotel features state-of-the-art meeting facilities including two meeting rooms and one multi-functional ballroom, which can accommodate up to 460 people. The hotel also offers a fully-equipped business center, an all-day dining restaurant called “Bosphorous,” featuring Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, and a piano bar. To unwind, there is a lush garden behind the hotel, and a swimming pool with a pool bar and a terrace. Guests can also work out and relax at the fully-equipped health club.
Tashkent, the Uzbek capital, was once the fourth largest city in the former USSR and is now Central Asia’s hub. It has always been an important international transportation center and is known to have some of the best international flight connections in the region.
Uzbekistan has a rich history; the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand were the crossroads of caravan routes from all surrounding civilizations from China to Arabia. The hotel will organize cultural tours nationwide for guests.
Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, part of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, currently operates 127 hotels in 37 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with another 30 projects under development. Radisson SAS is a four star plus, club class hotel brand with key differentiators such as the 100% Guest Satisfaction Guarantee and the Yes I Can spirit of service.
