The award ceremony, held during the National Restaurant Association Convention at McCormick Place, was attended by over 500 of Illinois' and the country's top Hotel and Lodging Association executives.
Dick Betty, VP of Operations for Hostmark Hospitality Group, is a graduate of the Citadel and Michigan State University School of Hospitality Business. He is active in many industry organizations. He has served as Midwest representative for the Sheraton Franchisee Division and on Sheraton Corporation's Marketing Board of Directors. Currently he is on the Board of Directors for the IH&LA, the board of trustees for the H.E.R.E.I.U. Health and Welfare Pension Fund and has participated for the past several years as a member of H.E.L.R.A. Negotiating Committee for various union contracts.
