VANCOUVER, June 11 Leisure Canada Inc., a leading developer of hotel resorts in Cuba, is pleased to announce that the company's wholly owned management division, Miramar Management, has been given the right to manage the Monte Barreto Hotel in Havana, with the intention to use its own brand, Mirus Resorts & Hotels to flag this property, subject to an agreed upon management contract with the company's Cuban partners.
The goal of the company is to build both Havana's premier hotel and the reputation of the Mirus Resorts & Hotels brand, so that it is synonymous with luxury, elegance and four-star-plus western recognized hotel products, as defined by AAA international standards set by the tourism industry. All modern western amenities and full-service conveniences would be offered under this brand.
Mirus, meaning "extraordinary", will ultimately strive to be the leader in the business travel market, while initially focusing on Cuba's thriving tour and travel market. The development of a hotel brand that can quickly transfer to a North American hotel chain, once the doors to Cuba open, further establishes Leisure Canada's vertically integrated gateway to Cuba.
Peter MacLeod, President and C.O.O. stated, "Leisure Canada's extensive experience in the hotel management industry, through our existing executive, board and partners, enables us to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity".
