White Lodging announced Lauren Wenger has been promoted to general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Salt Lake City, Utah. Previously, Wenger was the general manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Salt Lake City.

"I am pleased to have an opportunity to continue living in Salt Lake while seeing this hotel through its renovation and working with this team while we roll out the new Courtyard Refreshing Business concept," said Wenger. Wenger is looking forward to coming into 2013 with strong growth in revenue and guest satisfaction at the renovated Courtyard.

Wenger graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2006 and then from Cornell University from the Masters of Management in Hospitality program in 2009. She started her career with White Lodging later in 2009 as an operations manager in Grand Junction, Colo.

Wenger's previous property, the Residence Inn, was chosen as the first hotel in Region 9 to implement the new White Lodging training program for the company. The hotel was also ranked 94 out of the Residence Inn brand.

"Lauren will be successful because she doesn't give up and she has taught her team that hard work, focus and that taking care of the guests really does create success," said Regional Vice President Lisa Peterson.

Wenger has also been a fundraiser and marathon participant for Back on My Feet, a national nonprofit supported by White Lodging, dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless and other undeserved populations by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem.
