Josef Ebner Receives The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario's 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the development and promotion of the tourism industry in Ontario and have also established a visible and long-term record of accomplishment that merits special recognition.
 
For the past 20 years, he has made countless trips to Asia, Europe, UK, Middle East and the US on sales missions such as ITB in Berlin, CTC ‘Showcase’ events in Japan, Korea, China and India as well as WTM in London.  “These missions provide me with an opportunity to make a positive impact and ultimately contribute to the promotion and support of the tourism industry in Ontario,” said Ebner.  “The personal connections make the difference.”
 
A tireless promoter of the Delta Chelsea Hotel, Ebner is also very involved in various voluntary organizations including board membership and/or executive committee membership with Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, Greater Toronto Hotel Association, Tourism Toronto, SKAL International, just to name a few.
 
The ability to “give back” to the community is an important philosophy of the Delta Chelsea Hotel, but it is something the hotel practices every day.  Under the direction of Josef Ebner, the hotel has conducted fundraising efforts to benefit a number of local charities such as Canadian Special Olympics, the YMCA and Habitat for Humanity Toronto.  Personally, he has taken his mountain climbing passion to a new level by raising $25,000 in 2008 in Acconcagua (Argentina) for the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.
 
With genuine passion, Josef Ebner has inspired, shared and developed a vision for the future of the tourism industry.
