Rezidor SAS Adds Two More Park Inn Hotels to Total 16 Swedish Hotels

  • Rezidor SAS Hospitality Brussels, July 2003… Two additional hotels in Sweden will be re-flagged Park Inn, following the brand’s announcement in May that it will re-flag 14 hotels in Sweden to introduce the brand to Scandinavia.

    On August 1, 2003, Ditt Hotell at Arlanda Airport, located just outside of Stockholm, will be re-branded the Park Inn Stockholm-Arlanda. It is currently undergoing a complete renovation of the lobby, restaurant, bar, guest rooms and corridors.

    On September 1, 2003, the Hotell Savoy in Jönköping, located approximately 200 miles south of Stockholm, will be re-branded Park Inn Jönköping after extensive renovations which are currently underway. The hotel has 72 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a night club, meeting facilities and a sauna.

    Park Inn is an up and coming mid-market hotel brand, with a fresh perspective and extensive growth plans across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The brand is part of Rezidor SAS Hospitality. Currently operating 18 hotels in four EMEA countries, Park Inn hotels focus on mastering the essentials of a great hotel experience within their class, offering warm and casual service, being spotlessly clean and easy to use. Globally, Park Inn has 68 locations in eight countries, including 48 in the United States.

    On May 1, 2003, the chain opened 14 hotels in Sweden. More hotels are to come on-line, including 30 additional hotels in Sweden within the next few months. Park Inn opened its first hotel in Europe, the 1006-room Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz, on January 1, 2003, in Berlin. On March 1, 2003, the brand arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, with the opening of the 170-room Park Inn Green Market Square. Recently, another two hotels have been added in the portfolio in Switzerland, when the Park Inn Zürich Airport, and Park Inn Lully joined the chain on June 1, 2003.
