  • World's Finest Resorts Luxurious Seaside Resort in British Columbia Joins Elite Collection

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 10 The WORLD'S FINEST RESORTS announces the selection of BC's Poets Cove Seaside Resort into its collection of distinctive resorts, hotels, services and benefits. World's Finest Resorts (WFR) is designed by and for owners of fractional and wholly owned condominiums, villas and homes throughout the world.

Opening in late summer 2003, the luxurious resort is situated in the natural beauty of Canada's West Coast at Bedwell Harbour on Pender Island, one of BC's southern Gulf Islands. Pender Island is also in the center of the recently created "Gulf Islands National Park Reserve" and is geographically central to the three major urban centers in the PNW -- Seattle, Vancouver and Victoria.

When completed, the resort will include a 110-slip marina, 15 seaside cottages, 9 luxury country villas, and a resort lodge with 22 rooms. Interior design is being handled by the acclaimed international design firm Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo, used by such luxury hotels and resorts as The Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton Hotels. Plans include a spa, fitness & activity center, tennis courts, guest pool and hot tub, boardwalk plaza, meeting rooms, ballroom, restaurant and pub. The Marine Center will welcome visitors with a second heated swimming pool and hot tub, outdoor activity center, general store and market, patio, laundry facilities and showers.

Each Lodge room will feature large outdoor patios, Arts and Crafts furniture and stone fireplaces. The Country Villas, with seven distinct floor plans, will range from l,217-2,100 square feet. The Cottages, available in three distinctive floor plans, will be set along a forest path with dramatic views of the ocean and Marina. The total resort will cover 13.8 acres of land in addition to the 2.6 acres of fore shore water lease.

"Poets Cove Seaside Resort at Bedwell Harbour, is a year round resort that will offer guests all the amenities and services they would experience in other world-class destinations, with a wide-range of activities in one of Canada's most beautiful settings," says COO and General Manager, Susan Kelly.

According to Carl Berry, CEO, resorts may join The World's Finest Resorts by invitation only. The resort selection process includes an independent review of the property and evaluation of its location, accommodations, facilities and service standards. Among the top priorities is a high demand location in one of the world's most appealing destinations, a superior level of guest satisfaction and compliance with the code of ethics of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA).

Poets Cove will be accepting World's Finest Resort Members by September 2003 but owners at Poets Cove will be able to utilize all of World's Finest Resort options immediately upon purchase. The resort is currently offering hardhat tours to prospective buyers who are interested in the innovative concept of quarter ownership in which they receive a deeded title and the exclusive use of a resort home for 12 weeks each year. There are also options for full ownership.
