Sheraton Fredericton To Be Re-Branded The Delta Fredericton |
|
FREDERICTON, N.B., July 16, 2003 - The Delta hotel brand is coming to Fredericton, as the Sheraton Fredericton will become the Delta Fredericton effective December 15, 2003. The Delta Fredericton will continue to be owned and managed by CHIP Hospitality, one of Canada’s leading hotel management companies. |
The 222-room hotel is the largest in New Brunswick’s capital city. “The re-branding to Delta consolidates the number of brands that CHIP manages and provides us with a greater range of regional and national marketing opportunities,” said CHIP Hospitality President Minaz Abji.
With a four Green Leaf designation, this Fredericton hotel proudly holds the highest rating of all New Brunswick hotels participating in the Hotel Association of Canada’s Green Leaf™ Eco-rating program. The program rates hotels from one-to-five Green Leafs based on an independently certified checklist of environmental best practices.
There are currently seven Delta hotels in Atlantic Canada, with two in New Brunswick - Delta Beauséjour and Delta Brunswick. “The addition of Delta Fredericton will strengthen Delta’s position as the dominant brand in the Atlantic provinces,” said Delta Hotels President John Pye. “Delta Fredericton will also bring Delta's well-recognized level of first-class service and amenities for business and leisure travellers to New Brunswick's capital city.”
In addition, the hotel will offer Delta’s signature guest recognition program, Delta Privilege. Membership in the program offers many popular benefits, including the unparalleled One Minute Check-In Guarantee, promising a free first night if check-in takes longer than one minute, free local calls, no access 1-800 charges and a dedicated concierge service, available to members 24-hours, coast-to-coast.
This exceptional property is located in the heart of Fredericton, just minutes from commercial and government activity. Rooms offer spectacular views of the Saint John River, and riverfront walking trails lead past historic homes to world-class art galleries, museums and craft boutiques. The hotel is also close to the legislative buildings and the University of New Brunswick. The hotel’s extensive conference facilities include 10 meeting rooms totaling 13,000 square feet, accommodating groups up to 870 delegates. Full audio-visual, banquet and catering facilities are available.
CHIP Hospitality also owns and manages five other hotels in Atlantic Canada, the Holiday Inn Fredericton, Citadel Halifax Hotel, Best Western Charlottetown, the Best Western Travellers Inn in St. John’s and the Hotel Gander. The Delta Fredericton will be CHIP Hospitality’s fourth Delta hotel including Delta Edmonton South, Delta Montreal, and Delta Quebec.
