Island Hospitality Assumes Management for Hampton Inn Portland, Maine Downtown Waterfront

Officials of Island Hospitality Management, LLC, announced that it has assumed management of the 122-room Hampton Inn Portland Downtown – Waterfront Hotel in Portland, Maine. The addition of this premier location brings the company’s total managed portfolio to 78 hotels in 22 states across the nation.

“This hotel has been open only a short time and is still ramping up,” said Tim Walker, president and CEO of Island. “We have an affinity for helping hotels realize their full potential. We already operate in the Portland market, which will allow for synergies that can benefit both hotels.

“We continue to have an aggressive appetite to add to our third-party management portfolio,” he noted. “In addition to award-winning operations from a number of premium hotel brands, we have the financial reporting systems that are required by sophisticated institutional investors.”

The six-story hotel opened in August, 2011 and is located at 209 Fore Street on the downtown Portland peninsula. The 122 rooms are equipped with the brand’s signature clean and fresh Hampton beds, 42-inch HD televisions and complimentary high speed internet access. The hotel offers a business center, indoor swimming pool and fitness center, and serves Hampton Inn’s complimentary hot breakfast each day.

Situated in the Old Port district, the hotel offers beautiful views of Portland’s Casco Bay and ready access to the city’s historical attractions, boutiques, restaurants and bars. The ground floor of the hotel includes the separately-owned and operated Sebago Brewing Company. The property is the #1 rated hotel on TripAdvisor for the Portland market, which is one of the top travel destinations in New England.

The hotel is a short walk from the Portland Children’s Museum, the Theater of Maine and the Portland Museum of Art. In addition to its location near numerous visitor attractions, the hotel draws a steady business clientele throughout the year.
