European Hotel Development Pipeline For February 2013 at 850 Hotels
Among the countries in the region, Kazakhstan reported the largest expected supply growth (+38.2 percent) if all 2,072 rooms in its total active pipeline open.
The Europe hotel development pipeline comprises 850 hotels totalling 140,459 rooms, according to the February 2013 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report. The total active pipeline data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Pre-Planning stage.
Among the countries in the region, Kazakhstan reported the largest expected supply growth (+38.2 percent) if all 2,072 rooms in its total active pipeline open. Six other countries expected room growth of more than five percent: Russia (+24.7 percent with 20,866 rooms in the total active pipeline); Azerbaijan (+24.1 percent with 912 rooms); the United Kingdom (+8.2 percent with 42,077 rooms); Poland (+8.1 percent with 4,255 rooms); Romania (+6.8 percent with 1,850 rooms); and the Netherlands (+5.2 percent with 5,283 rooms).
