...and properties now need to respond to Hotels.com guest reviews
After a long awaited update to the Reviews section of Expedia, the new platform has been rolled out. One of the new features displays the Hotel Management Responses with a bold blue header so responses now sit prominently beneath each review.
Another feature they have added now imports all hotels.com reviews within the Expedia page listing. The hotels.com review is marked in very small font to differentiate between Expedia reviews and hotels.com reviews. The issue that seems to glare on the Expedia Reviews section is the noticeable gap in responses by hotel management. If responses are written for Expedia reviews and not hotels.com reviews, it gives the perception that the hotel is not addressing all reviews posted by verified guests.
This unintentional omission can give a negative tone to the hotel’s business listing on Expedia. Reviews should be addressed whether they praise or complain. Every property should consider adding hotels.com to the list of review sites for management responses.
