The new Steigenberger Hotel Bremen officially opened its doors on 1 September 2013 and is now ready to present its own mix of modern and traditional hospitality. The four-star Superior Establishment has become the 83rd member of the Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotel Group and its 15th representative in the North German region. Located directly on the banks of the River Weser in Bremen's new "Überseestadt" District within walking distance of the city centre and enjoying excellent transport links, the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen is set to appeal to business travellers and city break visitors alike.
The hotel offers 137 rooms including two accessible accommodation units and four suites. The interior design takes its lead from the maritime atmosphere of Bremen. The traditional flair of a port city and modern and elegant comfort come together in the furniture, materials and colours selected. Specific design elements include copper wall panelling, wave motifs in the carpets and rust red decorative cushions. As well as a desk and a comfortable armchair complete with side table and floor lamp, the rooms also feature a generously proportioned bathroom with floor-level shower and rain shower head as standard. All rooms offer views of the River Weser.
A conference facility extending over a total area of 450 m2 is in place for meetings and events. The conference area has two generally accessible Business Corners and six conference rooms that may be flexibly combined. All events rooms are equipped with sophisticated technology and have ceiling-high glass facades to allow natural daylight to flood in. WLAN is free of charge for all guests and available throughout the hotel.
The adjoining GOP Variety Theatre gives guests the opportunity to enjoy an unusual evening programme as well as making extra events space available.
The top floor of the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen features a 200 m2 health and beauty spa where everything centres on regeneration and relaxation. The generously sized facility includes two saunas, a steam bath, hydro-massage showers and a quiet room whilst its warm hues ensure a friendly and feel-good atmosphere. Like virtually every area in the health and beauty spa, the gym offers direct views out over the river via special glass facades.
The hotel's own restaurant "Blaufeuer", which is under the management of Executive Chef Thomas Seeländer, will be setting off culinary fireworks in future. The 30-year old will be serving up regional dishes with international influences and focusing on imaginative creations such as grilled scallops with baked black pudding.
The restaurant's floor-length panoramic windows allow unrestricted views of the river scene. The stand-out feature of the "Blaufeuer" is a 295 m2 terrace accommodating approximately 80 guests and set directly on the banks of the Weser. The culinary delights on offer are supplemented by an open bar with adjoining lounge.
"Bremen is an interesting and important market for us and picking up significantly with its high power of attraction and rising demand in overnight stays", stated Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. "The new Steigenberger Hotel is the first and only Deluxe Establishment in the Überseestadt District. We are delighted to be able to launch such a high-quality hotel project".
Steigenberger Hotels AG has concluded a long-term agreement with the Bremen-based investor and developer Siedentopf. The architectural design for the building was prepared by Eike Becker Architects of Berlin. The Hamburg-based company Joi-Design is responsible for the hotel's overall interior design concept.
