Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Ltd. has assumed management of Bernardus Lodge, Carmel Valley, Calif. As the 19th addition to the Noble House Hotels & Resorts (NHHR) hospitality portfolio, which includes notable luxury properties such as Little Palm Island Resort & Spa and Gateway Canyons, the 57-room Bernardus Lodge offers guests an enchantingly relaxing oasis on 26 acres of sweeping grape vines and lavender in sunny California.

Opened in 1999 by Benardus Pon as a European-style bespoke retreat, the award-winning Lodge will retain its name, as a new era in upgrades and expansion are ushered in. Included in the sale is the 26-acre Lodge and facilities, award-winning 60-seat Marinus restaurant under chef Cal Stamenov, Wicket’s Bistro and The Spa at Bernardus Lodge. Bernardus Vineyard and Winery and Bernardus Winery Tasting Room in Carmel Valley are not included in the sale and will continue to operate under Mr. Pon’s management team. As agreed to in the sale, the majority of Bernardus Lodge employees will be retained as well as Chef Stamenov and team.
In addition, the Lodge’s long-standing commitment to service excellence, unparalleled food & beverage operations and impressive guest-to-staff ratios will continue with Noble House management. “We share a passion and appreciation for the quality of product/service for which the Lodge is renowned,” explains Mr. Colee. “And we are thrilled to partner and ensure that Mr. Pon’s legacy continues.”
