Hotel Opening Italy

Lungarno Collection's Portrait Firenze to Open May 2014 in Florence Italy

Lungarno Collection's Portrait Firenze is set to open in May 2014, and the Ferragamo family-owned hospitality group is unveiling design details that will draw guests to celebrate the fashionable heritage for which the city is known.

Hotel News Resource Located along the Ponte Vecchio, the hotel is exclusively designed by Florentine architect Michele Bonan, who also designed the other properties in the collection. Portrait Firenze's lavish style and bespoke designs evoke a historic experience for every traveler. Bonan describes Portrait Firenze in one word: "Aristocratic." His primary inspiration was to create a timelessly elegant space and have harmony prevail through the use of simple lines. The property acts as an inspired 'storyteller', donning a photographic reportage throughout suites and public spaces portraying the lifestyle and glamour in Florence starting from the 1950's when the concept of 'Made in Italy' was born, while also paying homage to Florentine craftsmanship. Design details include portraits with Florence as the backdrop, showcasing famous streets, iconic monuments, and images depicting memorable celebrations and influential people.
