Kimpton Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced it will expand its Colorado footprint with the management of a ground up construction, four star hotel that is planned as part of the city's historic Union Station currently undergoing a major revitalization and redevelopment effort.

Slated for a late 2015 opening and located in the up and coming "LoDo" (Lower Downtown) neighborhood adjacent to Denver's iconic Union Station, the new 200-room hotel will be part of a larger mixed use redevelopment project that is currently underway by Continuum Partners in collaboration with East West Partners in the Union Station Neighborhood Company, the master developers of Union Station neighborhood, to revitalize and restore the historic area and central transit hub. The overall Union Station Neighborhood, when completed, will include office, commercial, retail and residential space, and several public plazas as well as the central transportation hub serving as a main artery for trains, buses and bikes into and out of the city.

The new hotel will feature 8,300 square feet of meeting space, including outdoor patio and rooftop patio, a 2,000 square-foot fitness center and two local-inspired, chef-driven restaurants and bars.

"Denver's Union Station Neighborhood and the revitalization efforts underway by Continuum Partners and Union Station Neighborhood Company are creating a world-class destination for the city, and we are thrilled for Kimpton to be a part of that," said Kimpton Chief Executive Officer Mike Depatie. "We have plenty of experience bringing the signature Kimpton boutique experience to new and emerging urban neighborhoods and this looks to be a perfect fit for what we offer both business and leisure travelers."

The new Union Station hotel marks Kimpton's third property in Colorado, joining the Hotel Monaco Denver and the Sky Hotel in Aspen.

Colorado-based Semple Brown Design and BOKA Powell, out of Dallas, have been selected as the Design Architect and Architect of Record respectively of the new project.

"Kimpton has a proven track record and reputation for establishing stylish, unique and well-managed hotels, including locally with the Hotel Monaco Denver, as well as much experience with historic revitalization projects such as Union Station," said Continuum Partners' Mark Falcone, CEO and Founder. "Working with them was a natural choice for us, and we are thrilled to partner with them as they expand their footprint in Denver."
