Homewood Suites by Hilton Opens in Lexington, Kentucky
MEMPHIS, Tenn. Oct. 13, 2003 Homewood Suites by Hilton(R), the national brand of upscale all-suite, residential-style hotels, today announced the opening of the 191-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Lexington. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Lexington is owned by Wellington E, LLC and managed by Wright Property Management, Inc.
The newly constructed hotel represents another addition to the growing roster of the more than 125 Homewood Suites by Hilton hotels nationwide.
"Lexington has been in great need for an upscale hotel that caters to guests staying five or more consecutive nights," said Doug Wright, the hotel's general manager.
The four-story Homewood Suites by Hilton Lexington features residential-style studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens and spacious sleeping and living areas that are large enough for work, study, entertaining or relaxing.
Other attractive guest amenities include a daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet in the hotel's hospitality center -- called the "Lodge," an evening Manager's Reception(a) Monday through Thursday with a complimentary light meal and beverages, exercise facilities and a 24-hour on-site Suite Shop(R) convenience store. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available in all guest suites, the business center and the Lodge.
"Our proximity to the University of Kentucky makes us a great hotel for this area. Our facility has been created specifically to meet the needs of travelers who stay at a hotel for an extended amount of time and who may require specialized services and amenities, such as an executive business center, complimentary high-speed Internet access and a grocery shopping service(b) by the hotel," added assistant general manager Michael Malloy.
Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, access to on-demand videos, and an outdoor putting green, adding a unique feature for relaxation and fun for business travelers and families. The hotel also features more than 500 square feet of meeting space. Each suite of the hotel has a fully equipped kitchen, featuring a microwave oven, full-size refrigerator, twin-burner stove, dishwasher and all the necessary pots, pans and utensils. Guest suites also feature a remote-controlled television, an iron/ironing board, and two telephones with dual lines.
The Homewood Suites by Hilton Lexington's address is: 249 Ruccio Way, Lexington, Kentucky. The hotel is located just three miles from The University of Kentucky, Rupp Arena and Commonwealth Stadium and near several horse racing courses including Keeneland Race Course and Red Mile Harness Race Track. The hotel is also located near the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
