Johnson began his career with Loews Hotels & Resorts as general manager for the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Florida. "I am very excited to join Loews Coronado Bay Resort as managing director," said Johnson. "Being in such a pristine location—a private 15-acre peninsula in the seaside

community of Coronado—makes the property truly unique. I am looking forward to continuing my leadership with Loews Hotels & Resorts, and coming back to beautiful San Diego."

Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Seven years later, he received a Master's in Marketing from National University.
