Mixed Results for London Hotels for June 2014

London hoteliers report a 1.8% drop in occupancy for June 2014

STR Global STR Global’s preliminary June data for London indicate mixed hotel performance.

Based on daily data from June, London reported:

  • increases in supply (2.4 percent) and demand (0.5 percent);
  • a 1.8-percent decline in occupancy to 87.7 percent;
  • a 1.5-percent increase in average daily rate to GBP161.80; and
  • a 0.4-percent decrease in revenue per available room to GBP141.87.
“The increase in supply picked up notably for London in June, posting the fastest growth rate in this measure since July 2013”, said Elizabeth Winkle, managing director of STR Global. “Demand remained relatively flat for the month compared to last year, while ADR continued to grow, posting the highest levels of any June since 1994”.
