Officials of the Southern Lodging Summit, an annual gathering of hoteliers specializing in development and operations in the southern United States, today announced that Mit Shah, CEO of Noble Investment Group, will be the keynote speaker of the 12th annual conference August 19-20 in Memphis, Tennessee. A 21-year industry veteran, Shah has been responsible for more than $2.5 billion in hotel investments.
The day-and-a-half conference commences with the organization’s signature luncheon at the world famous Rendezvous BBQ Restaurant, providing conference attendees with an opportunity to network and interact with the roster of industry notables scheduled as speakers, including Vanessa Sinders, SVP/Department Head of Government Affairs, AH&LA; Michael G. Medzigian, chairman & managing partner, Watermark Capital Partners, LLC; and Brian Wogernese, president/founder, WHG/Cobblestone Inns.
“While virtually everyone agrees that the hospitality industry is experiencing its most robust growth levels since before the Great Recession, savvy hoteliers already are looking to see what’s next,” said Chuck Pinkowski, owner of Pinkowski & Company and conference co-founder. “The Southern Lodging Summit is a one-of-a-kind forum for hospitality practitioners and those interested in learning more about the industry to meet, interact and learn about the specific challenges and opportunities that the hotel marketplace will face moving forward.”
Following “Lunch with the Speakers,” conference-goers are invited to attend an evening cocktail reception, dinner and auction at the world famous Peabody Hotel. The event supports the Political Action Committees for the Metropolitan Memphis Hotel & Lodging Association (MMH&LA) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA). Seating is limited, and organizers recommend making reservations early by contacting Deanna Ross at 901-581-5618. On Wednesday, August 20, the conference begins in earnest with a series of panels and other educational discussions planned throughout the day. The conference concludes with Hotel News Now’s VP of Digital Media & Communications/Editorial Director Jeff Higley hosting the popular “Guest Equity – Winning and Keeping Customers” panel before adjourning at 3:30 p.m.
