Choice Hotels Canada announced the recent appointment of five sales managers to its team. The growth reflects the company's commitment to providing industry-leading support to its franchisees.
"We're optimizing our resources and adding new sales managers to our team to ensure that current and prospective clients find us easy to do business with," says Tim Oldfield, managing director, Choice Hotels Canada.
Building on recent momentum in the system, including 11 new hotel openings in 2014 and renovations at over 60 hotels, Choice has made significant investments, including the expansion of its sales team to include a five-person regional sales team, which will focus primarily on developing the mid-market corporate transient segment for its franchisees.
Leading the team is industry veteran Vince Ambrico. Joining Choice as national sales manager, Ambrico has built a successful and progressive career in hospitality, most recently as an area director of sales for a large, privately held hotel ownership company. With a proven track record in hospitality, Ambrico will lead the Regional Sales team and assist in the development of sales support tools for Choice properties.
The newest additions to Choice's team include:
Dean Banister, regional sales manager, Alberta and Saskatchewan - Prior to taking on this role, Banister held sales positions with major hotel brands in the Calgary market, including Delta and the Hilton Garden Inn. He has a deep understanding of the Western Canadian marketplace, specifically when it comes to the corporate sector.
Kathrin Jin, regional sales manager, Ontario - Jin has held numerous sales positions, including a sales and marketing role with the Quality Inn & Suites Bay Front in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Jin also has proven talents in international business management and sales. Her most recent position was with Readyportal Inc., working as a sales and business development manager.
Nick Kammermayer, regional sales manager, British Columbia and Manitoba - Kammermayer has held many sales and marketing roles, most recently serving as the corporate and group representative for the Vancouver White Caps Soccer Club. Kammermayer also has a strong background in hospitality, having spent five years as the Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Boston Pizza.
Sylvie LaFrance, regional sales manager, Atlantic Canada - LaFrance has held many progressive sales positions, most recently with Moosehead Breweries as the New Brunswick territory manager. Based in Moncton, she is both bilingual and bicultural and highly in tune with the needs of the Quebec and Atlantic Canada markets.
"Choice Canada's properties are dedicated to providing travellers with a consistent and memorable experience that exceeds their high expectations," Oldfield says. "We are extremely proud to reflect that commitment through the top-level talents of our growing team."
