Sonesta International Hotels Sonesta adds its third Texas property to its growing portfolio with the announcement ofSonesta Bee Cave Austin, a new property planned for spring 2015 opening. Designed to reflect the surrounding Hill Country color palette and energy, Sonesta Bee Cave Austin will bring together a contemporary aesthetic and an authentic Austin vibe, reflecting the brand's commitment to delivering a collection of diverse and distinctive properties as individual as its guests – offering a sense of place, not just a place to stay.

Sonesta Bee Cave Austin is located just 14 miles west of downtown Austin, in the midst of world-class dining, shopping, entertainment, office space, and residences at the Hill Country Galleria complex, a 1.3 million square foot lifestyle center. The hotel will offer 195 guest rooms, including 12 suites, each overlooking the swimming pool and courtyard or the nearby Hill Country.

To lead the new property team, Sonesta has named John Dallas, a 25 + year hotel industry veteran, as General Manager. In previous positions, John worked for large management companies including Marriott International, Interstate Hotels and Resorts, and White Lodging Services as well as smaller management companies - McKibbon Hotel Management and JHM Hotels. John brings with him a combination of business acumen, a passion for serving the guest and empowering team members and, as a UT alumnus and local resident, a personal connection to the Sonesta Bee Cave Austin and its surrounding community.

"We are excited to be one step nearer to our goal of providing the local area with a first rate hotel experience. Bringing John on board assures both a continued close relationship with the Bee Cave and greater Austin community and exemplary leadership for the new property," said Adrian Overstreet, Managing Member of the company that owns the Galleria and is developing the hotel.

Amenities and features of Sonesta Bee Cave Austin will include a central courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, fitness center, 24-hour business center and complimentary Wi-Fi. Nearby activities include a 2.3 mile hiking and biking trail, community special events, concerts and shows, and over 100 stores and restaurants, all within walking distance. The beautiful Lake Travis, a reservoir on the Colorado River, is located nearby where plenty of outdoor recreation is available such as boating, swimming, fishing, specialty dining, and even zip lining. The lake was a key inspiration to the color palette and design throughout Sonesta Bee Cave Austin – influencing the use of natural rough woods, stone, and richly colored, textural materials found throughout the hotel.

A glass enclosed lounge and rooftop bar provide stunning Hill Country views as well as on-site dining opportunities for guests to experience Sonesta's Food is Art culinary focus. Plates will be interpreted with a distinctive flair at Sonesta Bee Cave Austin, utilizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients as the foundation of all culinary creations. Plenty of local favorites await discovery along with specially crafted cocktails, shaken, stirred and poured for guests – and locals alike – as part of the Sonesta Liquid Art program.

The grand ballroom is divisible into five sections making for easy accommodation of groups of all sizes.
