InterContinental Hotels Group Appoints Jerome Miller Vice President & Chief Diversity Officer, The Americas |

ATLANTA (Dec. 4, 2003) - InterContinental Hotels Group [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world's most global hotel company, appoints Jerome Miller, vice president and chief diversity officer, the Americas. |
In his new capacity, Miller will be reporting directly to Steve Porter, president, the Americas, InterContinental Hotels Group. Miller's appointment represents the company's continued focus on diversity and inclusion by emphasizing diversity in terms of internal staffing, operations, and key external relationships.
"I'm excited to announce we're elevating the position of our key diversity officer to better reflect the significance IHG attaches to its diversity and inclusion efforts," said Porter. "In his previous role as VP of Diversity and Inclusion, Jerome ably led our diversity efforts in the Americas. In his new role as Chief Diversity Officer, Jerome will continue to lead IHG initiatives aimed at more fully capitalizing on diversity within our company."
In 1999, Miller began his career with InterContinental Hotels Group as vice president, human resources. He soon added human resources responsibilities for brand management and franchise operations, and was charged with providing human resources services to the quality and service and franchise administration departments. In October 2000, he was appointed to the Diversity Steering Committee, a group in which he worked closely with the president of the company and established a diversity council. Most recently, Miller served as vice president, diversity and inclusion.
Miller holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Savannah State University and a master's degree in business administration from Clark-Atlanta University.
Miller, who is married and has two daughters, currently lives in the metro Atlanta area. Miller serves on several boards and advisory councils including the Southwest Family YMCA Center, Georgia State University Hospitality Industry Advisory Council, the Penn State University Hospitality Advisory Council, and the East-Africa American Business Council. He is also a member of the National Black MBA Association.
