Choice Hotel Latest Company to Offer Guaranteed Online Rates |
|
Silver Spring, MD (December 4, 2003) – Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH), today announced the extension of its Best Choice e-Rate Guarantee to all hotels within its worldwide system, encompassing more than 4,700 properties in 42 nations around the globe. |
Launched in March, the Best Choice e-Rate Guarantee initially had applied to hotels in the U.S. and Caribbean.
Effective immediately, travelers to any Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn or MainStay Suites brand hotel worldwide may take advantage of the guarantee. To enact the guarantee, a traveler must simply have a confirmed reservation for a room at any worldwide Choice Hotels brand hotel on Choicehotels.com, then shop for a better rate on alternative 3rd party travel web sites that identify the hotel and room rate prior to booking a room. If a lower online rate is available, the traveler then submits a Best Choice e-Rate Guarantee claim form, found online at Choicehotels.com. Once the alternate rate is verified, Choice Hotels will adjust the traveler’s original reservation to the lower rate – and take off an additional 10 percent.*
“The Best Choice e-Rate guarantee has already greatly simplified the online hotel marketplace for travelers to our domestic hotels,” said Wayne Wielgus, senior vice president, marketing for Choice Hotels. “Now travelers to the 41 nations outside of the U.S. in which we have hotels will enjoy the Best Choice e-Rate guarantee benefit as well.”
Wielgus added that international owners of Choice brand hotels would also benefit. “Domestic or worldwide, our hotel owners realize more direct profits when they sell rooms via Choicehotels.com,” he said. “And by driving more business through our site, we greatly enhance recognition of our brands in parts of the world where they may be less known.”
