Marriott Recognized by Selling Power Magazine As One of the Top Companies to Sell For |
|
Selling Power magazine named Marriott International, Inc. as the only lodging company in its ranking of "America's 50 Best Companies to Sell For." The magazine surveyed more than 350 companies based on three key categories: compensation, training and career mobility. |
The results that appear in the current issue place Marriott fourth in the service category and second among service companies with the largest sales forces. Marriott employs more than 10,000 salespeople worldwide.
"Not only it is an honor to be the only lodging company in this year's ranking, we're very pleased to have been included all three years the survey has been conducted," said Roger Dow, senior vice president of sales for Marriott International. "As part of Marriott's culture, we take care of our sales team, giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, so our company and our clients will benefit."
In October, Marriott's sales team conducted its tenth annual Customer Appreciation Day. Senior executives, led by J.W. Marriott, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer, and William J. Shaw, president and chief operating officer, placed telephone calls thanking over 35,000 customers for their business.
