inter-touch Appoints John Houston as Chief Executive Officer |

The Board of Directors of inter-touch (BVI) Limited, the leading provider of High Speed Internet Access for business travellers in Asia Pacific and Europe, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Houston as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. |
John has vast industry experience having spent 15 years in the telecommunications industry; starting and building businesses in various sectors including; Internet, Paging and GSM mobile services. He has held operational responsibility for businesses with customer bases exceeding 1 million subscribers. His career has taken him from Australia to New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Switzerland. John recently returned from Europe, where he was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Orange SA/AG in Switzerland. Prior to that, John was Chief Operating Officer of TA Orange Company Limited in Thailand, where he was responsible for the commercial launch of Orange’s first Asian start-up and also served on the Board.
Prior to this, John was with the Hutchison Telecommunications group of Hong Kong for 10 years. John was with their Australian business from start-up, and was responsible for building several successful businesses including; Internet Service Provision, Nationwide Paging and Financial Information Services. He also served as Managing Director of Hutchison International’s wholly owned subsidiary in Sri Lanka.
“John is the ideal candidate to take inter-touch through the next phase of growth and capitalise on the growing demand from hotels and business travellers for High Speed Internet Access and related products” said Eg Kah Yee, Acting Chairman of the inter-touch Board of Directors.
Eg Kah Yee, went on to say that “The appointment of John Houston will ensure inter-touch maintains its position as industry leader and continues to grow profitability by taking advantage of the numerous opportunities in this sector”.
The appointment comes in the light of inter-touch recently reporting a financial milestone in becoming the first in the industry to become EBITDA positive and the strengthening of the senior management team through the appointment of Elektra Mararian, formerly Managing Director of Asia Pacific for iPass, as Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. In addition inter-touch recently announced the signing of new major hotel chains to its portfolio, which includes Hyatt International and the Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
John is based in Singapore, where inter-touch is headquartered.
