Golden Tulip Adds 2 Golden Tulip Hotels And 9 Golden Tulip Residences To Italian Portfolio

As per the first of January 2004 the 642-room Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Beach Resort Naxos in Giardini di Naxos, Italy and the 50-room Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Miramonti in Saint Vincent, Italy have joined the existing Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Executive, Golden Tulip Grand ATAHOTEL Fieramilano and Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Quark in Milan, the Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Villa Pamphili in Rome and the Golden Tulip ATAHOTEL Concord in Turin. Furthermore an agreement for nine Golden Tulip ATA Residences, with in total 961 rooms, located primarily in Milan, has also been signed.

Mr Angelo Feriani, managing director of ATA Hotels, states: “We are very happy to have signed this new franchise agreement. We have been working with Golden Tulip since 1996 and are confident that the cooperation between our companies will continue to lead to high results and added value for all our hotels.”

Mr Hans Kennedie, president and CEO of Golden Tulip, adds: “I am delighted about this development in Italy. Through our agreement with ATA hotels we welcome two wonderful new hotels and nine residences into our family of hotels. Furthermore, the new build 124-room Golden Tulip Aemilia will be opening its doors in Bologna this spring. With a number of potential new hotels in both North and South Italy, we are looking forward to further expanding our Italian portfolio from the current 34 hotels in the short to medium term.”

Golden Tulip is now represented in the majority of key cities around the country, whereas it anticipates to add another 5 hotels and inns during the the course of this year.

Golden Tulip’s regional office is located in Rome, with an additional franchise services and sales office also located in Milan.

At the BIT trade fair, held from February 14th till 17th February in Milan, Golden Tulip launched the second Mediterranean “Meetings 2004” guide. The bilingual meeting guide (English/Italian) offers meeting planners a summary of all meeting, training or conference venues in all 34 Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn hotels located in the Mediterranean area.
