Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement with PPI Polskie Projekty Inwestycyjne Sp. z o.o. S.K.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Satoria Group, to open the 132-guest-room Hilton Garden Inn Torun Old Town. Hilton Garden Inn Torun Old Town will be managed by VHM Hotel Management and situated in the heart of the city’s Old Town, an UNESCO World Heritage site.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Hilton said: “Torun is one of Poland’s most popular domestic destinations. Its rich history and well-connected infrastructure mean it’s a fantastic place to open our next Hilton Garden Inn in Poland. We are looking forward to the hotel welcoming its first guests and joining our more than 30 hotels in Poland.”
Drawn by the city’s gothic architecture and cobbled market streets, millions of visitors flock to Torun each year. The city is home to more than 30,000 students of Copernicus University and prides itself as the birthplace of the famous astronomer of the same name. Torun is also a regional business hub, with several production plants in the city’s surrounding area, including a major Sharp and Blaupunkt factory (UMC Poland).
Andrzej Wójcik, President of Satoria Group and VHM Hotel Management said: ”Hilton Garden Inn Torun Old Town will be our fourth hotel in partnership with Hilton, joining properties in Gdansk, Olsztyn and Lodz. Our long-standing partnership is built on the strength of Hilton’s brands and our mission to offer the finest hospitality in the country. We cannot wait to welcome guests to Torun in 2022.”
Hilton Garden Inn Torun Old Town will see the redevelopment of a former brewery and tenement building into an upscale and affordable hotel, complete with 132 guest rooms, business and fitness centres, restaurant and bar.
Hilton Garden Inn Torun Old Town will be located at Piernikarska 10, 87-100 Torun.
