Meliá Hotels Internationa continues to maintain its robust momentum in the Asia Pacific region and today announced further growth in China with the new Meliá Arxan Hot-Spring Resort in Inner Mongolia and Meliá Qinhan New Town in Xi'an, which are expected to open by 2022, expanding the group's footprint in the country up to 11 properties (5 operating hotels and 6 in the pipeline)

With a 1-hour drive from the renowned Arxan National Forest Park, Meliá Arxan Hot-Spring Resort is nestled in Arxan, Inner Mongolia. Inner Mongolia is the third-largest Chinese subdivision and borders eight provincial-level divisions as well as Mongolia and Russia. Arxan is located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia and is home to the 'AAAAA' tourist scenic spots, ARXAN–Chai River National Geopark. 'Arxan' in Mongolia language means 'Hot-spring' - the city is well-known for its high-quality hot-spring recourses and it is the city with the highest forest coverage per person in China. Arxan City is endowed with natural ecological resources and complete tourism infrastructure. It has been awarded as China's 'Natural Oxygen Bar' by China Meteorological Service Association. Arxan is also among the first few National Climate Symbol Cities in China and certified as the first Climate Ecological City in China. Arxan has been recommended as the 'must visit' city by <China Tourism Yearbook>. Thus the location naturally makes Meliá Arxan Hot-Spring Resort an attractive holiday destination.

One of the oldest cities in China, Xi'an is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. Xi'an is also the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Meliá Qinhan New Town is located in The Xixian New Area. While boasting a significant historical and cultural heritage with over 350 relics dating back to at least 1,000 years, Xixian is experiencing a strong urban development with the goal to create a modern, sustainable city with improved ecology, livability and business environment. Qinhan New Town is located in the geometric center of The Xixian New Area, and is the core area of the five functional groups in The Xixian New Area. With the signing of the urban resort Meliá Qinhan New Town, it creates the synergy with the group's Gran Meliá Xi'an, the luxury hotel next to Tang Paradise in the city.

Adapting from Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand's essence of 'Soul of Things' and the promise of catering to every aspect of guests' wellbeing, Meliá Arxan Hot-Spring Resort and Meliá Qinhan New Town will provide 180 rooms and 250 rooms respectively. Both hotels will also feature international dining options, advanced meeting facilities, wellbeing services with Spanish warmth and thoughtful, added extras. At Meliá Arxan Hot-Spring Resort, with its natural geographic advantage, the hot spring pools for both adults and kids will help wash away the stress and tiredness from the cities. With a solid background of international experience and a professional Meliá team, the hotels will become the ultimate places to delivering an exceptional leisure experience.
