ADACO Services selects Navisite to host ASP offering

New single or enterprise level centrally hosted applications provide customers with automated procurement, materials management and operational control for dramatically improved productivity and profitabilty

ADACO Williamsville-based ADACO Services, creator of ADACOeclipse - hospitality's leading automated procurement and materials management software for hotels, colleges & universities, cruise ships and restaurants has signed an agreement with Navisite to provide the required hardware hosting and communications infrastucture needed for this venture. This deployment model will allow customers to access ADACO's powerful suite of software products for a monthly charge based on the simultaneous user connections required. Using ADACOasp customers need not come up with the substantial up front investment necessary for all hardware, operating systems, databases, licenses, IT staff, and ongoing overhead expenses common to the traditional purchased deployment.

Software as a service is one of the fastest growing sections of the technology sector. Industry analysts say the worldwide markets for application management services and software as a service are healthy and growing stronger. Analysts predict spending in this area to grow at a 28% five year compound annual growth rate and reach 8 billion by 2007.

According to Thomas G. Metzen, President and CEO of ADACO "The ASP or hosted model is one that we are genuinely excited about and will make our applications affordable for almost any size operation. The ADACOasp model provides major advantages for our customers by adding unparalleled deployment flexibility, favorable return on investment and speed of use and deployment. Upon execution of a simple contract, deployment and web based training can begin within a week, with the immediate generation of all the cost saving and processing efficiencies inherent in our applications".

Adaco selected NaviSite because of its reputation for 24/7 support, and its InControl systems management platform, which will enable collaborative management of ADACOasp. "Our customer base is world-wide, so we needed a hosting partner that can provide round-the-clock support, and NaviSite's InControl will enable us to seamlessly manage our application while NaviSite handles the infrastructure underlying it," said Metzen.

Andover, Massachusetts-based NaviSite provides managed application, infrastructure, and messaging services to more than 800 customers. "Adaco is one of a growing number of forward-thinking software vendors providing software as a service. They're responding to customer demands for new means of utilizing their applications, and reaching new customers as well. We're very excited to be working with Adaco as they expand this part of their business," said Joel Whitman, NaviSite's VP of marketing.
