Renovation Projects At Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

Fairmont Hotels FAIRMONT COPLEY PLAZA BOSTON

The historic hotel is scheduled to undergo a $29 million guestroom renovation and redesign program. The project will include a complete redecoration of all of the hotel’s existing 379 guestrooms and the addition of 11 new guestrooms. There will be two designs, each with its own color palette, elegant fabrics and furnishings. The décor was selected for the rich feeling and classic design, which is consistent with the overall feeling of the hotel. Two-thirds of the hotel will be complete by April 2003, with the final third being complete by early 2004. Jinnie Kim Designs, based in Brookline, MA, is the designer for the project. The firm also oversaw the Fairmont Chateau Laurier's renovation project.

THE FAIRMONT SOUTHAMPTON/THE FAIRMONT HAMILTON PRINCESS

Fairmont Hamilton Princess' $21 million renovation resulted in an elegant new lobby, lobby lounge, Fairmont Gold Salon and wing of guestrooms. The Fairmont Southampton Princess' $61 million project included a new lobby and lounge, Fairmont Gold floor and lounge, a new 23,000 square foot Willow Stream spa and fitness center, and renovated guestrooms.

FAIRMONT MIRAMAR HOTEL, SANTA MONICA

The Fairmont Miramar Hotel Santa Monica is currently renovating its 32 garden and poolside bungalows. The final phase of the hotel’s $18 million refurbishment is scheduled for completion January, 2003. The only accommodations of their kind in Santa Monica, the bungalows have hosted Hollywood celebrities, politicians and discriminating guests seeking luxury and seclusion. The bungalows will be remodeled one at a time, with care given to the original Craftsman design. New desks, desk chairs, chaise lounges, and patio umbrellas will be added, while existing wood and bamboo night tables, armoires, lounge and patio chairs, and outdoor tables will be completely refurbished and re-upholstered. Elegant Egyptian Frette cotton linens, drapery treatments, taupe-striped carpet, fresh white moldings and shutters will emphasize the beachfront location of the hotel

THE FAIRMONT CHATEAU LAKE LOUISE

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise recently completed a $4.8 million guestroom renovation - six floors of the hotel's Glacier Wing were restored in a traditional styling of the European Alps. Since the hotel is located within Banff National Park, each guestroom features reproductions of historic photographs and watercolors detailing the resort's history of mountaineering and nature preservation. Development of Fairmont Gold, a private club floor including check-in, concierge and lounge is set for completion mid-2003.

FAIRMONT CHICAGO

aria, the new restaurant at The Fairmont Chicago, will make its debut late fall, featuring a menu that includes great Chicago cuts, European cassoulets and various Asian curries in a comfortable American style. Lush earth tones of gold, melon, Brazilian woods and mahogany as well as fabrics rich in texture are being used in the $2 million construction project at aria.

THE FAIRMONT BANFF SPRINGS

The Fairmont Banff Springs is in the final stages of a three-year, $50 million refurbishment project. A new lobby and transformation of the hotel’s existing lobby into a grand new lounge, new port côchere, new restaurants, public areas and shops and refurbishment of guestrooms are among the improvements to the property, designated a National Historic Site. A Heritage Hall was also created above the lobby, to house memorabilia and artifacts on the history of the hotel and Rocky Mountain region.

FAIRMONT THE QUEEN ELIZABETH

After completely refurbishing 1/3 of its room inventory, the hotel converted the 3rd floor into a fully integrated business center separate from the 50,000 sq. ft. convention floor, with seven meeting rooms, 40 bedrooms as well as private concierge service. The second phase of renovation of over 350 rooms was completed mid 2002, featuring new Fairmont Gold floors including a lounge with concierge service for check-in and check-out, private boardroom, fireplace and city views. The final phase of this multi-million renovation program is scheduled for 2003.

THE FAIRMONT PIERRE MARQUES

The former hideaway of oil magnate J. Paul Getty, The Fairmont Pierre Marques is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation program. With an investment of over $10 million, the first phase was completed late 2001, including the construction of a new and spectacular port côchere, new open-air reception area, new open air bar and renovated restaurant. In addition 120 rooms have been redesigned, with over $28,000 spent per room on improvements. This year saw a $7 million soft goods renovation to the remaining 240 rooms, the construction of a new boutique, a modern gym and a Gourmet Café.

In 2003, the $3 million scheduled program includes the redesign of the Terraza restaurant as well as improvements to the main pool. Currently in the planning stage is a $3 million, three-year program to renovate The Pierre Marques and the Fairmont Acapulco Princess golf course including the addition of a clubhouse, as well as the construction of a convention/business center.

FAIRMONT LE MANOIR RICHELIEU

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is gearing up to expand its world-class golf course. The four year expansion project, to be completed in full by the 2005 golf season includes four major phases: the construction of a new 9-hole course, the installation of water supplying infrastructures, the restoration of the current 18-hole course and the construction of a driving range.

FAIRMONT SAN FRANCISCO

The Fairmont San Francisco was recently restored to its original 1907 grandeur with the completion of an $85 million renovation program including all public spaces and the hotel’s 591 guest rooms and suites. Like an archaeological dig, the restoration team uncovered original marble floors, ornate domes and intricate design work, bringing the hotel up to date, yet preserving its historic charm.

FAIRMONT KEA LANI MAUI

The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui will be renovating the property’s 413 one-bedroom suites and 37 two and three bedroom villas in phases undertaken over the next few years. In addition, new cabanas are being placed in the pool areas, enhancing guest convenience and privacy.

WILLOW STREAM - THE SPA AT THE FAIRMONT SCOTTSDALE PRINCESS
