Investors book in at Six Continents

BLUE CHIP hotel operators shrugged off a profit warning from Hilton Hotels Corporation of the US on the view that January’s heavy selling has now left the likes of Six Continents and Hilton Group looking good value.

Times Online HHC, which owns the rights to the Hilton brand in the Americas, knocked sentiment on the wider sector after telling Wall Street that revenue growth during 2003 would be “approximately flat”, having forecast as recently as October that growth would be in “low single digits”. More worryingly, it lowered its earnings guidance for the current year by 20 per cent.
