As Google Offers, called by many a Groupon clone, expands its Beta into new cities it may be prudent to start exploring this new form of consumer marketing.
Some hoteliers have experimented to varying degrees of success with Groupon promotions; both for the hotel and hotel restaurant and one cannot underestimate the potential of this marketing opportunity in particular in light of Google’s search engine market share.
No doubt the offers will be incorporated into search results, just like Google Local, Google Maps and other Google products.
Why not run a test! Results should be easy to measure using ‘Funnels’ in Google Analytics and other tools.
