Hampton Inn Iowa City/University Opens

The hotel potentially set a new record for Hampton Hotels and Hilton Worldwide as the most quickly constructed hotel, built in just 131 days.

Hampton Inn Hampton Hotels, the global brand of nearly 1,900 mid-priced Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Hampton by Hilton hotels, announced the official opening of its newest property, the 93-room Hampton Inn Iowa City/University Area located at 4 Sturgis Corner Drive.

The Hampton Inn Iowa City/University Area, which is owned by Ravi Lodging Inc. and managed by Hawkeye Hotels, Inc.,  potentially set a new record for Hampton Hotels and Hilton Worldwide as the most quickly constructed hotel, built in just 131 days. It is the second Hampton property in Iowa City, ahead of one more Hampton hotel slated to be opened in Iowa and more than 250 Hampton properties in the pipeline in the U.S.

Situated along the Iowa River and within minutes of the University of Iowa Hospital and Campus, the Hampton Inn Iowa City/University Area offers easy access to many popular Iowa City attractions, including its historic downtown area - home to Iowa's first capital building - as well as many fantastic shopping and dining opportunities. The hotel is also conveniently located less than two miles from Kinnick Stadium, home of Iowa Hawkeyes football.
