The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) presented Dana Communications with four Adrian Awards at last night’s black-tie gala held at the New York Marriott Marquis. In its 56th year, the Adrian Awards event showcases industry achievers and ROI-producing materials from this prestigious international competition.
Among Dana’s winning entries was the Gold Award-winning campaign, “When Bad Things Happen to Good Planners,” for The National Conference Center (NCC) in Leesburg, Virginia. Dana developed a series of short videos that showed different disastrous scenarios a planner might encounter at other non-conference center properties, filmed from the viewpoint of an attendee sharing their bad experience in a social media exchange. It was a distinct way to communicate how choosing a specialist like NCC will not only help avoid disaster, but can also guarantee a flawless event.
In addition, Dana was honored with three Bronze Awards. One went to IMEX America’s “The Pulse of the Meetings Industry,” an extensive branding campaign that tells the story of IMEX America, its importance within the industry and its level of impact to the bottom line. Another was awarded for Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s “PGA Championship” campaign, with its approach to leveraging the prestigious 2012 PGA event while promoting year-round golf packages and positioning the resort as the East Coast’s premier golf destination. The third Bronze went to The National Conference Center’s “Campaign in Response to GSA Spending,” an effort targeted specifically to government meeting planners, following the criticism of the GSA’s recent lavish spending at a Las Vegas conference and the irresponsible use of taxpayers’ funds. Via strategically placed ads and eblasts, Dana added NCC’s unique viewpoint to the debate, positioning its General Manager as a spokesperson to bring balance and suggest positive direction.
Dana’s award-winning entries were picked from numerous submissions from around the world and judged by top executives from all sectors of the industry. To learn more about the 2012 Adrian Awards competition and gala event, visit www.adrianawards.com.
