Loews Coronado Bay Resort has announced that Brian Johnson has been appointed managing director. Johnson brings more than 31 years of hospitality-industry experience to his role as managing director having most recently served as managing director of Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, a 398-room property nestled in Arizona's Catalina Foothills.
Johnson began his career with Loews Hotels & Resorts as general manager for the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Prior to Loews he worked with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, where he began his career in 1983 at the Sheraton Harbor Island East (now the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina) property.
At Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Johnson will be responsible for overseeing the general operations of the 439-room resort, as well as its five restaurants and markets, the 15,000-square-foot Sea Spa, and premier conference facility, which encompasses 65,000 square feet.

"Brian brings a deep understanding of the Loews brand, and is a dynamic hospitality industry professional.

Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Seven years later, he received a Master's in Marketing from National University. Johnson has received numerous awards and accolades for his work in the hospitality industry, as well as in the community.
