Cornerstone Hospitality announced today the addition of the Hampton Inn and Sleep Inn & Suites, located in Stony Creek, Virginia and Comfort Inn, South Hill, Virginia to their portfolio.
“Both of the Stony Creek properties are located along I-95 and provide a wonderful location for travelers along the corridor and those utilizing the local military bases. These assets have been on our radar since our inception due to their close proximity to our corporate offices and quality of the asset.” said President and CEO of Cornerstone Hospitality, Kimberly L. Christner. The owners of these properties have completed the required brand refresh at both properties.
The Comfort Inn, South Hill is located on I-85 and is owned by the same owners of the Hampton Inn, which Cornerstone Hospitality also manages. “After assuming the Hampton Inn in December 2012, we were able to successfully improve RevPAR by 15%, achieve an Outstanding on Quality Assurance Inspection and actually pay for our services through operational improvement in less than a year. All of this success generated at a property that was in the bottom 10% of the brand when we assumed management. Due to our hands on approach, this type of achievement has generated interest by other owners seeking a similar style of management with the same results. Assuming the rest of this particular owner’s portfolio is a great compliment to that achievement.”
Craig Larson, Chief Operating Officer, said, “The ownership of all of these hotels opted to change their hotel management company to secure a more hands-on approach to the management of their asset. They see the value that Cornerstone Hospitality brings with our style of on-site leadership. Unlike many management companies, we are present on our assets weekly, which makes a big difference in the overall operational success of the properties.”
