Today at its annual Fall Conference, Choice Hotels Canada announced a strategic partnership with Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning. The five-year partnership will include initiatives such as internships and job recruitment at Choice Canada properties like Comfort and Quality, annual student awards and integration of company case studies into curriculum.
"Humber College School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism is widely respected in Canada and beyond, having fostered a great deal of talent in the industry," says Tim Oldfield, managing director, Choice Hotels Canada. "As leaders in the hospitality field, we want to provide resources to students that build on and amplify the current programs."
While partnerships with the Humber College School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism are not new, this is the school's first hotel partnership and the first of its kind for Choice Hotels Canada. The goal is for students to learn and benefit from real life case studies, and through on-campus initiatives including speaking engagements and one-on-one sessions with Choice employees.
"As Canada's leading hospitality programs, we are constantly looking for ways to add value and depth to our programs," says Susan Somerville, dean, School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism, Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning. "Choice Hotels Canada is Canada's largest hotel franchisor for some of the world's leading hotel brands. We know this new partnership will help raise the bar in education and will be a great benefit for our school and students."
