Carlson Rezidor has introduced a new owner of the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam: An European-Israeli investor group led by Mr. David Zisser from Omnam Investment Group has acquired the building from the previous owner, the German Europe 1 Fund. Colliers International has facilitated the transaction.

The property featuring 478 rooms will be a new European flagship for Carlson Rezidor’s fresh and dynamic mid-market brand Park Inn by Radisson and will welcome the first guests in 2016. The leading Dutch design company Moooi will create the hotel’s concept and interior along with Adam Smit from ZZDP Architects. Moooi will add a new dimension to the Park Inn by Radisson value proposition that targets the growing clientele of Generation X and Y through personalized services, state-of-the-art technology, and social responsibility and interaction.

“We are delighted to complete this exciting project together with Omnam Investment Group and thank the new owners for their trust in us. Amsterdam is one of the most important hotel markets in Europe, and we have a strong presence with five hotels and almost 1,300 rooms in operation and under development”, commented Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor. In the Netherlands, Rezidor also operates a further hotel in Noordwijk aan Zee.

“This transaction reflects our pro-active and collaborative approach with our partners and business stakeholders; including lenders, brokers, owners and new investors. By providing investment opportunities and business solutions, we endeavour to add value and mitigate risks to all parties involved”, added Elie Younes, Senior Vice President and Head of Group Development at Rezidor.

The 42,000 sqm building is a former head quarter and the largest vacant office complex in Amsterdam. Works for the conversion to a hotel will already start in November 2014. Located in Amsterdam West next to the Sloterdijk Railway station and with excellent connection to the city centre and Schiphol Airport, the Park Inn by Radisson will be part of a highly visible mixed-use construction also comprising retail and entertainment units. “We believe that the hotel will be a catalyst for the further development of this upcoming area. The creation of a “one-stop-shop” of hospitality, entertainment and design will be unique – we are proud to cooperate with Moooi led by the famous Dutch interior designers Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers, and look forward to other surprises joining this amazing project”, said David Zisser, CEO of Omnam.

Besides 478 guest rooms in vibrant design, the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam will offer 4,000 sqm of conference space (including a ball room) and become one of the most attractive MICE destinations in town. An all-day-dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a gym and 500 parking spaces will complement the hotel’s services and facilities.
