John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts (JQH) today announced two talent additions to its corporate leadership. Bill George returns to JQH as vice president of capital planning and asset management, and Patrick Blache joins the company as corporate senior director of information technology. Springfield, Mo.-based JQH is the largest private, independent owner and manager of hotels in the United States. The company also operates more than 5.4 million gross square feet of superb meeting and convention space.
According to Joe Morrissey, JQH’s senior vice president of operations, George and Blache represent forward-thinking specialists that create and manage solutions that meet the evolving needs of diverse consumers.
“We are thrilled to have Bill back in the JQH family, as he is familiar with our expansive JQH portfolio spanning many hotel brands,” Morrissey said. “And Patrick’s strategic role in guiding JQH IT at the corporate and portfolio levels leveraging cutting-edge technologies and processes will help ensure we deliver on an optimum guest experience.”
As JQH’s vice president of capital planning and asset management, Bill George will be responsible for leading and managing the execution of capital projects, hotel level engineering, and interior design. In his new leadership role, George will ensure JQH’s properties represent the best of the best of brand standards for each franchise the award-winning company represents. George brings nearly 40 years’ experience in design and construction to JQH. His expertise spans hospitality projects for both top franchisor brands, such as Embassy Suites by Hilton, and hotel ownership groups, such as JQH, where he spent 13 years. Most recently, he was vice president of design and construction for Chatham Lodging Trust in Palm Beach, Fla. His career also includes work with Sage Hospitality in Denver, where he was vice president of capital projects.
With 15 years’ experience as a collaborative strategic technical manager, Patrick Blache joins JQH as corporate senior director of information technology to oversee overall planning, organization, security and execution of all IT functions for the company. Most recently, Blache served as director of technical services for Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver. His career also includes work as systems engineer for Acxiom Corporation in Little Rock, Ark.
