Pacifica Hotels announced this week the promotion of Matthew Kou to Vice President of Investments & Acquisitions after just two years with the company. Kou joined Pacifica February 2014 and immediately took off to a soaring start by playing key roles in numerous transactions over the last two years.
Kou joined Pacifica Hotels with an already extensive tenure in hotels and real estate. Most recently, he served as Director at Sonnenblick-Eichner in Beverly Hills, CA, where he was actively involved in arranging debt and equity for institutional quality commercial real estate. Prior to Sonnenblick-Eichner, Kou was an associate at PKF Consulting in Los Angeles, CA. His consulting and appraisal engagements included hotels, mixed-use resorts, conference centers, casinos and golf courses for clients and brands throughout the United States.
Mr. Kou graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a degree in hospitality management. He is also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of California and a member of the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group.
"Matt's contribution over this past year has been instrumental in Pacifica's ongoing growth and unprecedented success," said Matt Marquis, CEO of Pacifica Hotels. "This promotion is well-earned and we look forward to a future of shared success."
Over the past 18 months, Pacifica has focused on refining and growing its portfolio through asset acquisitions, full-property renovations, and transitioning branded properties to independent status. These property changes and enhancements are consistent with Pacifica's overall mission to provide exceptional hospitality experiences and unique lodging products to its guests.
